Il Mercato Unico Europeo: sfide e obiettivi per rilanciare la competitività europea

The first chapter of the paper retraces the fundamental historical stages that led to the creation of the Single European Market and how it has contributed to economic growth and widespread prosperity in the member countries of the Union. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the causes of the growing fragmentation of the Single Market and analyses the proposals made by the ex former Prime Ministers Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi on the failure to complete the market. The third and final chapter extends the field of analysis to the horizon of international competitiveness, assessing the potential for boosting competitiveness through strengthening and completing the Single Market, analysing the urgency of these objectives in a geopolitical framework that is uncertain and challenging for the future of the Union.

Il primo capitolo dell'elaborato ripercorre le tappe storiche fondamentali che hanno portato alla creazione del Mercato Unico Europeo e come questo abbia contribuito alla crescita economica e a un benessere diffuso nei Paesi membri dell’Unione. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sull’analisi delle cause della crescente frammentazione del Mercato Unico e analizza le proposte avanzate degli ex Primi Ministri Enrico Letta e Mario Draghi sul mancato completamento del mercato. Il terzo ed ultimo capitolo allarga il campo di analisi all’orizzonte della competitività internazionale, valutando il potenziale rilancio della competitività attraverso il rafforzamento ed il completamento del Mercato Unico analizzando l’urgenza di tali obiettivi a fronte di un quadro geopolitico incerto e sfidante per il futuro dell’Unione.
