Memorie della Shoah nell'Europa orientale

This thesis, entitled "Memories of the Shoah in Eastern Europe", deals with the subject of the Shoah in Eastern European countries focusing on the extermination of Soviet Jews, the crimes of the Wehrmacht on the Eastern Front, on the theme of collaborationism in the territories occupied by the Germans to the east and on the denied memory of the Shoah in communist countries inherent to the theme of recognition of the Jewish specificity of extermination. The main motivation that led me to deepen this theme was the passion and interest I have in this subject and this allowed me to have the curiosity to be able to expand my knowledge on it through the analysis and reading of the different texts, Volumes and articles on the subject. The objective of this compilative thesis is to provide a clear historical picture of the subject but above all an analysis dictated by the research of the different historians that can provide important points for reflection. The thesis is divided into four chapters: The first chapter addresses the extermination of the Soviet Jews by analyzing the ways in which the Jewish genocide took place in that area and the reasons why this part of the Shoah has remained for a long time little known and studied Studies on the subject. The second chapter deals with outlining the role of the Wehrmacht on the Eastern Front by analyzing the role of anti-warpartisanship as an ideological and operational justification for the commission of crimes, taking into account both the perspective of officers and high command and the perspective of ordinary soldiers. The third chapter deals with the theme of collaborationism in the territories of Eastern Europe under German occupation trying to identify the characteristics and causes of this phenomenon focusing mainly on Ukraine, regarding the massacre of Babij jar, on the Baltic countries, with regard to the Ponary massacre, and on Poland with regard to the pogroms of Jewdabne and Radziłow. The fourth chapter addresses the theme of the negated memory of the Shoah in countries under Soviet occupation regarding the difficulty to recognize the Jewish specificity of extermination especially in countries such as Ukraine and Poland.

Questa tesi, dal titolo “Memorie della Shoah nell'Europa orientale”, tratta l'argomento della Shoah nei paesi dell'Europa orientale focalizzandosi sullo sterminio degli ebrei sovietici, sui crimini della Wehrmacht sul fronte orientale, sul tema del collaborazionismo nei territori occupati ad est dai tedeschi e sulla memoria negata della Shoah nei Paesi comunisti inerente al tema del riconoscimento della specificità ebraica dello sterminio. La motivazione principale che mi ha spinto ad approfondire questa tematica è stata la passione e l'interesse che nutro nei confronti di questo tema e ciò mi ha permesso di avere la curiosità per poter ampliare le mie conoscenze in merito attraverso l'analisi e la lettura dei diversi testi, volumi e articoli inerenti all'argomento. L'obiettivo di questa tesi compilativa è quello di fornire un quadro storico chiaro dell'argomento ma soprattutto un'analisi dettata dalle ricerche dei diversi storici che possono fornire importanti spunti di riflessione. La tesi è articolata in quattro capitoli: il primo capitolo affronta il tema dello sterminio degli ebrei sovietici analizzando le modalità con cui avvenne il genocidio ebraico in quell'area e sulle ragioni per le quali questa parte della Shoah sia rimasta per lungo tempo poco nota e studiata facendo riferimento ai diversi studi condotti sul tema. Il secondo capitolo si occupa di delineare il ruolo della Wehrmacht sul fronte orientale analizzando il ruolo della guerra anti-partigiana come giustificazione ideologica e operativa per il compimento di crimini prendendo in considerazione sia la prospettiva degli ufficiali e dell'alto comando sia la prospettiva dei soldati semplici. Il terzo capitolo tratta il tema del collaborazionismo nei territori dell'Europa orientale sotto occupazione tedesca cercando di individuare le caratteristiche e le cause di questo fenomeno focalizzandosi principalmente sull'Ucraina, in merito all'eccidio di Babij jar, sui Paesi baltici, per quanto riguarda il massacro di Ponary, e sulla Polonia inerente ai pogrom di Jewdabne e di Radziłow. Il quarto capitolo affronta il tema della memoria negata della Shoah nei Paesi sotto occupazione sovietica per ciò che concerne la difficoltà a riconoscere la specificità ebraica dello sterminio in particolar modo nei paesi quali l'Ucraina e la Polonia.
