Trapianto di polmone: il ruolo dell'infermiere e l'importanza dell'educazione terapeutica. Una revisione sistematica della letteratura

Introduction Lung transplantation is indicated for terminal respiratory diseases such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. Five-year survival is 60%, but patients should be treated with strict medication and monitored regularly. The nurse has a crucial role in managing treatments and educating patients to prevent complications. Objective Examine the role of the nurse during the period of lung transplant care and the impact of post-transplant therapeutic education on the well-being of the patient undergoing a lung transplant Materials and methods The research was carried out in two phases. Its start was characterized by a bibliographical research aimed at identifying the role of the nurse during pre and post-surgery and therapeutic education that a patient transplanted lung needs (phase 1). Subsequently, an interview was conducted with a lung transplant patient in December 2023 at the Molinette Transplantation Centre. (step 2) Results The bibliographical research carried out resulted in a selection of 13 articles, which revealed 8 main topics for discussion. The interview was conducted using targeted questions to facilitate the patient’s story, exploring different areas including the role of the nurse and therapeutic education received. Conclusion The study highlighted the essential role of the nurse in lung transplantation, both in assisting and informing patients. There is a growing use of mobile health (mHealth) to support transplant patients, but in-depth training for nurses is needed, both theoretical and practical, and the study provides a basis for future research on a larger sample.

Introduzione Il trapianto di polmone è indicato per malattie respiratorie terminali come BPCO, fibrosi polmonare, fibrosi cistica e ipertensione polmonare. La sopravvivenza a cinque anni è del 60%, ma i pazienti devono seguire una terapia farmacologica rigorosa e un monitoraggio costante. L'infermiere ha un ruolo cruciale nella gestione delle terapie e nell'educazione del paziente per prevenire complicanze. Obiettivo Esaminare il ruolo dell’infermiere durante il periodo d’assistenza per il trapianto di polmone e l’impatto dell'educazione terapeutica post-trapianto sul benessere del paziente sottoposto a trapianto di polmone. Materiali e metodi La ricerca è stata effettuata in due fasi. Nella prima fase è stata effettuata una ricerca bibliografica mirata a identificare il ruolo dell’infermiere durante il pre e post intervento e all’educazione terapeutica che un paziente trapiantato di polmone necessita. Successivamente, fase 2, è stato intervistato un paziente trapianto di polmone nel dicembre 2023 presso il Centro Trapianti delle Molinette. Risultati La ricerca bibliografica effettuata ha portato alla selezione di un totale di 13 articoli, che hanno fatto emergere 8 argomenti principali riportati in discussione. L'intervista è stata condotta utilizzando domande mirate per facilitare il racconto del paziente, esplorando diverse aree, tra cui il ruolo dell'infermiere e l'educazione terapeutica ricevuta. Conclusione Lo studio ha evidenziato il ruolo essenziale dell'infermiere nel trapianto polmonare, sia nell'assistenza che nell'informazione ai pazienti. Si registra un crescente utilizzo della mobile health (mHealth) per supportare i pazienti trapiantati, ma è necessaria una preparazione approfondita per gli infermieri, sia teorica che pratica, e lo studio rappresenta una base per future ricerche su un campione più ampio.
