Code-Switching in Call Me by Your Name

Language and cinematography are two closely connected realities. Culture and linguistic choices influence and shape our own identity as a speech community. This is exemplified by the exploitation of specific language cues on the part of bilingual speakers in order to improve communicative effectiveness. One of the attendant linguistic phenomena that can be observed is code-switching, which will be the object of this dissertation. In particular, the use of code-switching will be examined within the movie Call Me by Your Name.
