Festa di Mezz'Autunno

My thesis concerns the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most important holidays in China. I carried out some research, starting from its distant origins and inserting some poems and popular legends related to the moon. Next, I examined the traditions and cultural aspects of the festival, with particular attention to food and music. Even in other eastern countries, such as Japan, Korea and Vietnam, this anniversary is celebrated, so I decided to investigate and analyze their habits and customs. Finally, I thought I'd add a "curiosity" to the text, that is, some interviews that I personally conducted and that I addressed to some citizens of the Chinese community residing in Turin. I chose to go to the stalls of the Porta Palazzo market to ask them questions directly about how much this anniversary is still felt and celebrated by Chinese immigrants in our country.

La mia tesi riguarda la Festa di Mezz’Autunno, una delle festività più importanti della Cina. Ho svolto alcune ricerche, partendo dalle sue lontane origini e inserendo alcune poesie e leggende popolari legate alla luna. A seguire, ho esaminato le tradizioni e gli aspetti culturali della festa, con particolare riguardo al cibo e alla musica. Anche in altri paesi orientali, come il Giappone, la Corea e il Vietnam, si celebra questa ricorrenza, per cui ho deciso di indagare ed analizzare i loro usi e costumi. Infine, ho pensato di aggiungere una “curiosità” al testo, cioè alcune interviste che ho condotto personalmente e che ho rivolto ad alcuni cittadini della comunità cinese residenti a Torino. Ho scelto di recarmi presso i banchi del mercato di Porta Palazzo per porre direttamente loro delle domande su quanto questa ricorrenza sia ancora sentita e celebrata dai cinesi immigrati nel nostro Paese.
