Sostenibilità e Competitività: il Progetto VenTo

In the last period of the current age we witness natural disasters, pollution increase, climate changes, energetic and financial crisis, poverty, increase of mental diseases due to stress and anxiety and so on. Even some scientists theorize that the unique way of safeness will be in another planet, because if the trend remains the same of today humans are destined to fade away. So, we need to act in a responsible way. In fact, any actions or choices of individuals, entities and/or institutions have an impact on the surrounding environment and other individuals. For these reasons in the first chapter I developed the concept of Social Responsibility that is a concept that expands the factors addressing choices, considering not only profits and personal interests, but also the environment and society. The greater interest on these matters made new indicators been developed recently, that integrate economic growth measures with others assessing the real well-being. I have discussed them in the second chapter with a comparison among Italy and other countries. Being socially responsible entails also thinking to the next generations and this requires take decisions that lead to a Sustainable Development. In the third chapter I have wanted to talk about a sector that in Italy, due to its particular cultural and geographical features, can have many opportunities and should be mainly developed: the tourism. But also tourism should be developed in a sustainable way. Therefore, because of, how somebody said, for beginning a long walk we have to start with a small step, I have proposed a small Italian project: VenTo.
