There have been occurrences of both ongoing inflation and hyperinflation in the region for many years. This thesis explores the complex relationship between cryptocurrency usage and inflation in South America. It looks at the historical context of inflation in the region, examines the experiences of countries with significant cryptocurrency adoption, and assesses the likelihood and challenges of cryptocurrency acceptance in South America. Through a thorough analysis, this study intends to assess whether cryptocurrency might be a viable answer to the persistent inflationary issues faced by South American governments.
