This master thesis aims to understand if a cosmetic company that sells mainly online can be sustainable through its supply chain. To reach a valuable result, I will develop my work analyzing a cosmetic brand owned by the start-up Vortex. Given my high interest in sustainability, I desire to define, with my work, a set of guidelines useful to support companies that want to better their environmental performances. My research will begin with an analysis of the existing literature. It will focus on the topics of green supply chain and the impacts of e-commerce. Therefore, an overview of the Italian cosmetic market will be offered to the reader to give a general framework of the considered market. Finally, the author will run a qualitative analysis of the start-up’s impacts. This investigation is based on the information collected through interviews and documentations of the considered companies. Examining all those data, I did a qualitative evaluation of how sustainable ANT, the cosmetic brand studied, is. I found that it can be considered a sustainable one. I identified some actions that improve the sustainable performances of a cosmetic business too. However, it wasn’t possible to create some more broad guidelines. Therefore, further research can arise from this thesis. Analyzing the problem from a quantitative point of view and in different markets can lead to a deeper understanding of which actions can make a company more sustainable.

Abstract
Analyzing the problem from a quantitative point of view and in different markets can lead to a deeper understanding of which actions can make a company more sustainable.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
