The various documents chosen for this processing were chosen for their ability to provide concrete answers to the research question submitted, as regards the descriptive part of the thesis, while as regards the research part of the thesis, we focused in addition to the truthfulness of the data of course, also on the availability of information and the various sources identified and chosen. The case analyzed was chosen following the interest aroused by the Californian company Tesla Motors, world leader in the field of electric vehicles. The objective of the chapter dedicated to the case study is to define its competitive advantage over its competitors. The tools used for the collection of information were mainly documentary analysis and the study and analysis of financial statements and graphs found during the search for documentation for the creation of this thesis. The information collected was then processed following the case study research methodology and the typical precautions of qualitative research (Yin,. 2009; Richards and Morse 2009), with the aim of achieving results that are also useful for practice and not just for one theoretical development of knowledge on the subject. In order to achieve the objective and the evaluation carried out, it was decided to develop the thesis work in 3 chapters. The first chapter analyzes in detail the issue of competitive advantage in a theoretical way; an attempt was made to clearly develop the components of the competitive advantage: in this work, an attempt was made to explain the critical success factors, factors of change and the types of competitive advantage. In the second chapter, an attempt was made to analyze the automotive sector in depth, by means of a statistical and evolutionary analysis of the sector, an analysis of the past and present sector, an analysis of the sector using Porter's 5 forces model and identify the influences of the general environment on the sector. In the conclusion of the chapter we will arrive at an evaluation of the protagonists of the automotive sector, which helps us to identify and elaborate the subject of this thesis. The third and final chapter represents the empirical part of the thesis, where an attempt was made to analyze the Tesla Motors case. The analysis of the individual case, in addition to having a high descriptive value, useful for the practice, has allowed to highlight some results and to identify particular internationalization strategies of the sector and their characteristics, in some innovative cases, above all for the sector, which will be discussed and presented at the end of the chapter. It can therefore be said that this thesis has provided possible answers to the research question that was posed.
