Identità sessuale e disturbi del comportamento alimentare: un'analisi della letteratura

The thesis deal with the connection between the disturbs of alimentary behaviour and the LGBT community. There is an increase, in the last few years, of these disturbs in the LGBT population. In the order to explain this connection the thesis analizes in the first place the concept of gender identity and the sexual orientation, it describes the principal theories that inquire the aetiology of omosexuality; besides are described the clinical and diagnostic characteristics of: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorder and Eating Disorder not Otherwise Specified. In the end, it reports a small review of researches that deal with the relationship between omosexual orientation, body dissatisfaction and alimentary disturbs.

L'elaborato di tesi affronta il rapporto tra i disturbi del comportamento alimentale e la comunità LGBT. Vi è un aumento, nel corso degli ultimi anni, dell'incidenza di questi disturbi nella popolazione LGBT. Per spiegare tale rapporto l'elaborato analizza in primo luogo i concetti di identità di genere e di orientamento sessuale, descrivendo le principali teorie che indagano l'eziologia dell'omosessualità; inoltre si descrivono le caratteristiche cliniche e diagnostiche di: Anoressia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Disturbi da Alimentazione Incontrollata e non altrimenti specificati. Infine, si riporta una breve rassegna di ricerche che indagano il rapporto tra orientamento omosessuale, insoddisfazione corporea e disturbi alimentari
