Child Marriage is vastly diffused in the world, mostly, but not only, in West and Central Africa, where it does affect mostly young girls. Stopping child marriages becomes every year more important end more urgent because the child population is increasing in West and Central Africa, putting at risk more children every year. However Child Marriages are still legal and much used in many countries of the world, not only in developing ones but even in those that, being members of the United Nations General Assembly, should follow the set of rules defined in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the UN in 1959. This research aims to understand how much child marriage is really diffused, the reasons why it is and how the trend could change in the next future.

However Child Marriages are still legal and much used in many countries of the world, not only in developing ones but even in those that, being members of the United Nations General Assembly, should follow the set of rules defined in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the UN in 1959. This research aims to understand how much child marriage is really diffused, the reasons why it is and how the trend could change in the next future.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
