Strategie e meccanismi di traduzione di frasi relative italiane in cinese. Un'analisi delle traduzioni cinesi del romanzo Il Nome della Rosa

The task of the thesis is to compare the relative clauses in the two languages and the different translation solutions used of the relative sentences from Italian to Chinese. My choice fell on the novel Il nome della rosa by Umberto Eco, whose title 玫瑰 的 名字 (Méi ɡuī de mínɡ zì) for two reasons: firstly, it was the first Italian novel I read in my studies Bachelor's degree at Sichuan International Studies University (Chongqing); secondly, it is a novel that was translated into Chinese as early as the 1980s. Numerous versions are available, two of which have been translated directly from Italian: those by Shen Emei and Ni Anyu, which I used to build the corpus of my thesis.

Il compito della tesi è di comparare le proposizioni relative nelle due lingue e le diverse soluzioni traduttive usate delle frasi relative dall’italiano al cinese. La mia scelta è caduta sul romanzo Il nome della rosa di Umberto Eco, il cui titolo 玫瑰的名字 (Méi ɡuī de mínɡ zì) per due ragioni: in primo luogo, è stato il primo romanzo italiano che ho letto nel mio percorso di studi triennale alla Sichuan International Studies University (Chongqing); in secondo luogo, è un romanzo che è stato tradotto in cinese già negli anni Ottanta, sono disponibili numerose versioni di cui due tradotte direttamente dall’italiano: quelle di Shen Emei e Ni Anyu, che ho utilizzato per costruire il corpus della mia tesi.
