RAPPORTI DI COOPERAZIONE TRA ITALIA E FRANCIA NEI SETTORI POLITICO, MILITARE, ECONOMICO E CULTURALE ​

Italy and France, two of the most important European nations, share noble values, which leads them to be two sister nations. The similarity of the two States and the sharing of interests have led them, since the post-war period, to maintain a bilateral cooperation that has enabled them to achieve very significant results. The spectrum of areas of collaboration is particularly wide, and is continually being expanded, with the aim of growing relations and increasing synergy. Relations between the two countries are undoubtedly based on solid foundations, although over the years there have been moments of crisis caused by specific controversies that have risked undermining their solidity. Despite this, the common values on which these nations are based have always prevailed over the contrasts: both are committed to peace and security, and both aim to preserve the planet in order to make it a hospitable place. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the relationship between Italy and France in the political, economic, military, security and cultural fields. The aim of the paper is also to provide an interpretation of the relationship between the two countries, highlighting the geopolitical dynamics that characterise it and explaining the reasons for the differences. The paper is composed of five chapters: The first, devoted to the historical context, describes the political relations between Italy and France from the post-war period to the present day, describing both multilateral cooperation, with particular reference to the history of European integration, and bilateral cooperation, which peaked in the 1980s; The second, on economic and trade relations between the two countries, explains the market dynamics in this field, with a detailed description of data on trade volumes, and presenting the main economic partnerships; The third describes in detail the cooperation between the Italian and French armed forces, which are currently jointly deployed in numerous training activities, as well as in international operations, reporting also the valuable results obtained in the field of collaboration in the armament industry; The fourth chapter highlights the relationship regarding cooperation in the field of cross-border security and the fight against illegal immigration and terrorism; Finally, the fifth chapter describes cooperation in the field of culture, research and education; in these areas, one can see the desire of both countries to share their values and to allow for a cultural exchange that includes the mutual teaching of their cultures. ​

L'Italia e la Francia, due delle più importanti nazioni europee, condividono nobili valori che le portano ad essere due nazioni sorelle. La somiglianza dei due Stati e la condivisione degli interessi li ha portati, dal dopoguerra, a mantenere una cooperazione bilaterale che ha permesso loro di raggiungere dei risultati significativi. Lo spettro dei settori di collaborazione è particolarmente ampio, e viene costantemente alimentato, puntando alla crescita delle relazioni e all'aumento delle sinergie. Le relazioni tra i due paesi poggiano indubbiamente su basi solide, anche se nel corso degli anni ci sono stati momenti di crisi causati da controversie specifiche che hanno rischiato di minare la loro solidità. Nonostante ciò, i valori comuni su cui si basano queste nazioni hanno sempre prevalso sui contrasti: sostenitori della pace e della sicurezza, entrambi mirano a preservare il pianeta per renderlo un luogo ospitale. L'obiettivo di questa tesi è quello di fornire una panoramica completa delle relazioni tra Italia e Francia in campo politico, economico, militare, di sicurezza e culturale. Lo scopo di questo articolo è anche quello di dare un'interpretazione della relazione tra i due paesi, evidenziando le dinamiche geopolitiche che la caratterizzano e spiegando le ragioni delle differenze. L'articolo è composto da cinque capitoli: Il primo, dedicata al contesto storico, descrive le relazioni politiche tra Italia e Francia dal dopoguerra ad oggi, descrivendo sia la cooperazione multilaterale, con particolare riferimento alla storia dell'integrazione europea, sia quella bilaterale, che ha raggiunto il suo apice negli anni Ottanta; Il secondo, incentrato sulle relazioni economiche e commerciali tra i due paesi, spiega le dinamiche di mercato in questo campo, con una descrizione dettagliata dei dati sui volumi di commercio e delle principali partnership economiche; Il terzo descrive in dettaglio la cooperazione tra le forze armate italiane e francesi, attualmente impiegate congiuntamente in numerose attività addestrative, oltre che in operazioni internazionali, riportando anche i preziosi risultati ottenuti nel campo della collaborazione nel settore degli armamenti; Il quarto capitolo mette in evidenza la relazione riguardante la cooperazione nel campo della sicurezza transfrontaliera e la lotta contro l'immigrazione illegale e il terrorismo; Infine, il quinto capitolo descrive la cooperazione nel campo della cultura, della ricerca e dell'educazione; in queste aree si può vedere il desiderio di entrambi i paesi di condividere i loro valori e di permettere uno scambio culturale che includa l'insegnamento reciproco delle loro culture. ​
