This thesis is to introduce the concept of the phenomenon of Greenwashing, an issue that causes to mislead consumers regarding the practices of a company or an organization by painting themselves eco-friendly though they are not. Though this work, we will analyze the proposal for a directive on Green Claims that has objectives such as the empowerment of the consumer towards the green transition of the whole society, and at the same time, this work analyzes all the practices that are considered misleading. The need of an official certification scheme recognized by the EU is an important advantage and it will be considered as a plus for those who intend to operate in the market. A case from a famous automotive manufacturer will be analyzed at the end of this study to better comprehend what we have tackled since the beginning of this project.
