RIFLESSIONI SULLE DIFFERENZE TRA LA VARIANTE EUROPEA E LA VARIANTE BRASILIANA DELLA LINGUA PORTOGHESE: ANALISI DELLE TRADUZIONI DI L’AVVENTURA DI UN SOLDATO TRATTO DA GLI AMORI DIFFICILI DI ITALO CALVINO.

The purpose of this thesis is to expose the differences between the European and Brazilian variants of the Portuguese language through a comparison of two translations of L’avventura di un soldato from Italo Calvino's Gli amori difficili. The study is based on the fact that Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese - BP and EP - are commonly referred to as the portuguese language, as if it were an undifferentiated and homogeneous whole, but it is not. Differences have been observed regarding spelling, morphosyntax, vocabulary, and semantics. The intention is not to provide an explanation of the identified differences but to draw attention to their existence.

Lo scopo di questa tesi è quello di esporre le differenze tra la variante europea e quella brasiliana della lingua portoghese, mediante un confronto tra due traduzioni del brano L’avventura di un soldato, tratto da Gli amori difficili di Italo Calvino. Lo studio si basa sul fatto che il portoghese brasiliano e il portoghese europeo - PB e PE - vengono comunemente denominati lingua portoghese, come se quest’ultima fosse un insieme indifferenziato e omogeneo, ma in realtà non lo è. Sono state osservate divergenze riguardanti l'ortografia, la morfosintassi, il lessico e la semantica. Non si intende fornire una spiegazione delle differenze riscontrate, bensì portare l’attenzione sulla loro esistenza.
