Die Sprache der Anderen: il dialetto berlinese come elemento di distinzione e affermazione identitaria.

In the following discussion I analysed the linguistic differences between the two Berlin communities immediately after the fall of the Wall, referring mainly to data collected and sociolinguistic studies conducted by Prof. Norbert Dittmar of the Freie Universität Berlin. Starting from a brief historical overview of the divided city, I proceed with a rapid escursus on the evolution of the urban dialect and its peculiarities, we tried to show how the Berlinisch can be traced back to a specific group, and how its use implied an implicit and specific social belonging and an identity distinction at the same time. In the final section of the paper, some observations on the current situation and various reflections on possible future scenarios were made.

Nella seguente trattazione sono state prese in analisi le differenze linguistiche esistenti tra le due comunità berlinesi subito dopo la caduta del Muro, facendo riferimento principalmente ai dati raccolti e agli studi sociolinguistici condotti dal Prof. Norbert Dittmar della Freie Universität di Berlino . Partendo da un breve inquadramento storico della città divisa, procedendo poi con un rapido escursus sull'evoluzione del dialetto urbano e sulle sue peculiarità, si è cercato di dimostrare come il Berlinisch sia riconducibile ad un preciso gruppo, e come il suo utilizzo comportasse un'implicita e specifica appartenenza sociale e una distinzione identitaria al tempo stesso. Nella sezione conclusiva dell'elaborato sono state infine fatte alcune osservazioni sulla situazione odierna e varie riflessioni su possili scenari futuri.
