Ruolo dell' infermiere nel trattamento del dolore oncologico in cure palliative

Abstract in English Introduction: Pain is one of the most common and problematic symptoms encountered by patients with cancer. Due to the multifactorial etiology, pain management of these patients often requires multidisciplinary interventions, including conventional and non-conventional support and specialized palliative care, as well as concurrent care. Methods and Materials: A literature review was conducted by consulting biomedical databases such as PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL). Results: There are still many resistances in the health care field in treating the sick person as a holistic being, or understanding that sometimes conventional care cannot relieve pain, resistances are also present in patients about early palliation or concurrent care. Discussion: The nurse strives to ensure the best interests of the patient, benefits, and best outcomes for the patient, remembering that the patient is not just his or her illness, but a human and holistic being who must be considered as a whole

Abstract Introduzione: Il dolore è uno dei sintomi più comuni e problematici incontrati dai pazienti con cancro. A causa dell'eziologia multifattoriale, la gestione del dolore di questi pazienti richiede spesso interventi multidisciplinari, tra cui il supporto convenzionale e non e le cure palliative specialistiche, nonché le cure simultanee. Metodi e materiali: È stata condotta una revisione della letteratura attraverso la consultazione di banche dati biomediche quali PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL). Risultati: Esistono ancora numerose resistenze in campo sanitario nel trattare il malato come essere olistico, o nel comprendere che talvolta le cure convenzionali non sono in grado di alleviare il dolore, resistenze sono presenti anche nei pazienti circa la palliazione precoce o cure simultanee. Discussione: L’infermiere si adopera per garantire gli interessi del paziente, dei vantaggi e dei migliori risultati per l’assistito, ricordandosi che quest’ultimo non è solo la sua malattia, ma un essere umano e olistico che va considerato nella sua interezza.
