The Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, adopted by the Third session of the 13th National People's Congress of China, took effect on Jan 1, 2021, marking China's entry into the era of civil code. China's Civil Code is an important milestone in the legislative history of China, with the longest legislative time, the largest legislative scale, and the largest number of legislative provisions. As the first law named "code", is closely related to social life. This paper is divided into three parts to introduce the core content of China's civil code. The first part expounds on the reasons for the compilation of the Chinese Civil Code, the development course in the past hundred years, and its significance to modern society. The second part discusses the evolution of Chinese traditional legal culture and legal system. The third part introduces the innovative provisions of China's civil code, including the separate codification of individual rights and tort liability, as well as the new provisions in line with the development of The Times. China's Civil Code integrates traditional legal culture with modern characteristics, reflecting the process of China's rule of law and the needs of modern society. It has had a profound impact on politics, economy, culture, and ecology. The promulgation and implementation of China's Civil Code is an important milestone in the construction of the rule of law, providing a complete and systematic framework for the country's legal system, leading the process of the rule of law in Chinese society, and providing a solid legal foundation for the sustainable development of the country.
