Climate change is by now supported by scientific evidence: the uninterrupted consumption, combustion and emission of fossil fuels are irreversibly altering the ecosystem and living conditions within our planet. Over the past few years, the focus on environmental sustainability has been growing, together with the awareness that, if humans keep producing and consuming at the same pace as they do these days, future generations will be drastically impacted by these changes. Governance plays a central role in the fight against climate change, proposing and fostering new patterns of production and consumption, promoting sustainable activities and, simultaneously, restricting those that are damaging to the planet Earth and the individuals living on it. Following a general overview of the global situation regarding climate change and an analysis of its causes and impacts, this research aims to analyse the European Green Deal recently proposed by the European Commission, describing its objectives, potential benefits, and points of action. Afterwards, a deeper analysis of the Circular Economy takes place, as it is one of the main building blocks on which the Green Deal rests. This passage focuses, in part, on the key principles and goals of the circular economy. On the other part, the purpose of this chapter is to better understand the content of the Circular Economy Action Plan and to research practical examples of circular economy systems as well as to verify their implementation and effectiveness.

Abstract
On the other part, the purpose of this chapter is to better understand the content of the Circular Economy Action Plan and to research practical examples of circular economy systems as well as to verify their implementation and effectiveness.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
