The concept of smart city is becoming increasingly more important in contemporary cities development and governance. In this thesis, I will investigate the concept of smart city; focusing more on the European context with an analysis on Paris’ situation. I will take in account different indexes to analyze Paris’ positioning among international rankings, and I will highlight the importance of the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics Games to analyze how this will impact the city, especially how smart initiatives will be fastened up in view of the Games.
