This dissertation examines the deployment of technological solutions in addressing sex crime offenders in the United States. The study analyses various technological approaches employed for the supervision and rehabilitation of sex offenders, exploring their effectiveness and impact. Through a review of existing case law, this research provides an in-depth analysis of the technological advancements used to manage sex crime offenders, investigating both strengths and weaknesses of the use of electronic monitoring systems. Then, the study focuses on how the data gathered contribute to the establishment of predictive patterns, useful for identifying the degree of potential risks and to prevent re-offending. In conclusion a comparative analysis is proposed to inspect how jurisdictions worldwide have decided to approach the issue of sexual abuse. What is intended to show is that technological progress has a great impact on the management of sex crime offenders and requires to strike a balance between public safety and individual rights of offenders. Indeed, several alternatives to prison sentence have been introduced in criminal justice systems, consisting of models aimed at rehabilitating offenders in order to ensure their efficient reintegration into society once released.
