The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the freedom of expression and opinion from a legal point of view together with a political and theorical background. A critical perspective turns out as a general comment regarding the legal provisions settled by the EU and US legal frameworks and the legal and social issues. A personal conclusion is given at the end, based on a personal experience about the topic of the research.
