Da A Tale of Two Cities a Povest’ o dvuch gorodach: analisi di due traduzioni russe di E. Beketova (1893) e M. Bogoslovskaja – S. Bobrov (1960)

This Master’s Thesis debates the analysis of two Russian translations of the novel of Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities. The first translation was done by E. Beketova (1893), while the second by M Bogoslovskaja and S. Bobrov (1960). The project is based upon real examples taken from the book in English and the versions in Russian. The first chapter focuses on the historic and socio-cultural context of the original text and of those translated. The second highlights the translation techniques and the syntaxis of the two Russian versions, analysing in depth similarities and differences. The third studies the lexicon.

La presente Tesi Magistrale tratta dell'analisi di due traduzioni russe del romanzo di Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities. La prima traduzione è di E. Beketova (1893), mentre la seconda è di M. Bogoslovskaja e S. Bobrov (1960). Lo studio si basa su esempi concreti tratti dal libro in lingua inglese e dalle relative versioni in lingua slava. Il primo capitolo si concentra sul contesto storico e socio-culturale del testo originale e di quelli tradotti. Il secondo pone l’attenzione sulle tecniche traduttive e sulla sintassi delle due versioni russe, analizzando somiglianze e differenze. Il terzo analizza in particolare il lessico.
