Amélie Nothomb e l'autofiction nella narrazione dell'esperienza giapponese

The dissertation presents the study of Amélie Nothomb's three novels dealing with different experiences lived by the author in Japan. The first work analyzed is Métaphysique des tubes, a nostalgic tale of her childhood spent in Kansai, a region of Japan which Amélie Nothomb will be forced to leave from, because of her family's work commitments. The following chapter, dedicated to the novel Ni d'Ève ni D'Adam, addresses the writer's return to Japan at the age of twenty one whose focus is on the relationship she engages with a young boy from Tokyo. The final section presents the study of the novel Stupeur et Tremblements describing the alienating work dynamics Amélie has to deal with in order to find her place in Japanese society. Three different formative moments have been detected by the analysis of these works helping the raise of her artistic awareness .The dissertation focuses on the different peculiarities of autofiction, trying to identify if this form of writing highlights the mediocrity of existence or strategically conceals the trauma suffered.

La dissertazione presenta lo studio dei tre romanzi di Amélie Nothomb che affrontano le diverse esperienze vissute dall'autrice in Giappone. La prima opera analizzata è Métaphysique des tubes, racconto nostalgico dell'infanzia della scrittrice trascorsa nel Kansai, regione del Giappone dalla quale Amélie Nothomb deve separarsi a causa degli impegni lavorativi della famiglia. Il capitolo successivo, dedicato al romanzo Ni d'Ève ni D'Adam, affronta il ritorno in Giappone della scrittrice all'età di ventun anni il cui focus è sulla relazione che instaura con un giovane ragazzo di Tokyo. Infine la sezione finale presenta lo studio del romanzo Stupeur et Tremblements il quale esplicita le dinamiche lavorative alienanti all'interno delle quali Amélie cerca di inserirsi per trovare il proprio posto nella società nipponica. L'analisi delle opere individua tre differenti momenti formativi che hanno contribuito allo sviluppo della consapevolezza artistica nell'autrice.La dissertazione si sofferma sulle diverse peculiarità dell'autofiction cercando di individuare se vi è tramite il ricorso a questa forma di scrittura la volontà di mettere in luce la mediocrità dell'esistenza o di occultare strategicamente i traumi subiti.
