Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of monetary extrinsic motivators on employee performance, specifically focusing on productivity, motivation, and teamwork within a corporate context. This study aims to understand how these motivators influence employees, and to provide insights into effective reward management strategies. Design/methodology/approach – The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative analyses. The quantitative phase involves a survey of 112 employees, especially from Generations X and Z, to capture their perceptions and experiences with monetary extrinsic motivators. The qualitative phase includes semi-structured interviews with employees at Stellantis&You, focusing on the Spare Parts Sales department, to gain deeper insights into the practical implications of these motivators. Findings- In light of the survey and interview results, interpreted through the lens of key motivational theories, this study contributes to the field of human resource management by offering a nuanced understanding of how monetary extrinsic motivators impact employee performance, with particular attention to generational differences. It highlights the necessity of integrating both extrinsic and intrinsic motivators to build a motivated, productive, and engaged workforce. The findings offer practical implications for organizations, including Stellantis&You, seeking to enhance employee satisfaction and performance through holistic reward management strategies.
