VEICOLI AUTONOMI: barriere etiche, legali e tecnologiche per la loro accettazione e integrazione stradale

The main purpose of the thesis is to shed light on the issues that prevent the road integration of autonomous vehicles and their acceptance. The paper initially aims to introduce the characteristics of autonomous vehicles and the intelligent systems that enable their functioning and improvement. In the second part, there is a thorough discussion of ethical and moral, as well as technological obstacles, and how these contribute to the growing distrust towards technology. Consumet acceptance is a crucial factor for the introduction of autonomous vehicles on our roads and can only be achieved by addressing uncertainties from ethical, legal and technological barriers. Therefore, although the opportunities offered by driverless cars in terms of reducing the number of accidents, environmental sustainability and road safety are promising, they are not yet ready to circulate on our roads.

La tesi ha il principale obiettivo di far luce sulle questioni che rallentano l’integrazione stradale dei veicoli autonomi e la loro accettazione. L’elaborato inizialmente mira a introdurre le caratteristiche dei veicoli autonomi e dei sistemi intelligenti che permettono il loro funzionamento e miglioramento. Nella seconda parte si discute in maniera approfondita degli ostacoli etici e morali, oltre che tecnologici e di come questi contribuiscano alla crescente sfiducia verso la tecnologia. L’accettazione da parte dei consumatori è un fattore cruciale per l'introduzione dei veicoli autonomi e può essere ottenuta solo dall’abbattimento delle incertezze derivanti dalle barriere etiche, legali e tecnologiche. Quindi, benché le opportunità offerte dai veicoli autonomi in termini di riduzione degli incidenti, sostenibilità ambientale e sicurezza stradale siano promettenti, non sembrano ancora prossimi a circolare sulle nostre strade.
