The post-war reconstruction process in Ukraine turns out to be a complex task, which undoubtedly includes the issue of the physical infrastructure restoration and solving the problems that arose as a result of the Russian invasion started in February 2022. In order to effectively solve the housing crisis, a systematic approach to research is going to be proposed. Particularly, the first part of the thesis is dedicated to the context-territorial analysis which will explain the historical importance of rural areas for the State as well as provide with the study of recent development programmes conducted in the country. Additionally, the thesis will provide a project design for self-construction of houses, including outlining strategy for the project's real-life implementation. Overall, the study, which covers three regions of Northern, Eastern and Southern Ukraine, aims to develop affordable and practical solutions for housing, taking into account its historical heritage, sustainability and the concept of self-construction analyzing the approach of its consequent launch in the market.

Abstract
The post-war reconstruction process in Ukraine turns out to be a complex task, which undoubtedly includes the issue of the physical infrastructure restoration and solving the problems that arose as a result of the Russian invasion started in February 2022. This thesis work is going to examine the problem of housing destruction in three particular rural regions of Ukraine: Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv that were severely damaged by the military actions. Consequently, it is aimed to provide a building project ‘Evolutionary housing for post-war reconstruction’ that creates opportunities for affected people to develop their own dwelling projects, providing a detailed manual for their further implementation, which will take into account regional characteristics and the diversity of family scenarios. Overall, the study, which covers three regions of Northern, Eastern and Southern Ukraine, aims to develop affordable and practical solutions for housing, taking into account its historical heritage, sustainability and the concept of self-construction analyzing the approach of its consequent launch in the market.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
