The latter's importance has come to light over the past decade in Latin American countries due to its connection with concepts such as identity, citizenship, and education. Therefore, the thesis considers intercultural education as a means for recognizing and promoting indigenous peoples' rights. It is essential to analyze the Intercultural Bilingual Education project and to consider it from the respondents' point of view to understand how it is defined and how it can promote a change within the Plurinational state of Ecuador by reducing or eliminating existing inequalities within the country.
