Maria alla Croce. Studio della genesi di una “giullarata” di Dario Fo.

The study investigates the ways in which Dario Fo arrived at the writing of the giullarata of Mary at the Cross. First, I recosntruct the editorial history of Mistero Buffo and investigate the role played within it by the so-called "Passion Texts" (of which Maria alla Croce is a part). Starting from the bibliography provided by Fo himself, I trace the possible medieval sources of the giullarata and anayze the elements that were used from these by Fo in his play. Finally, it emerged from the study how Fo was particularly attracted to the "humanization of the sacred" present in medieval theatrical texts dating from the period of the so-called "revolution of the affections" in the 12th century. ​

Lo studio indaga le modalità con cui Dario Fo è giunto alla stesura della giullarata di Maria alla Croce. Si è ricostruita in primis la storia editoriale di Mistero Buffo e si è indagato il ruolo che al suo interno giocano i cosiddetti "Testi della Passione" (di cui Maria alla Croce fa parte). Partendo dalla bibliografia fornita da Fo stesso si sono rintracciate le possibili fonti medievali della giullarata e analizzati gli elementi che da queste sono stati utilizzati da Fo nel suo testo teatrale. Infine è emerso dallo studio come Fo sia stato particolarmente attratto dall'"umanizzazione del sacro" presente nei testi teatrali del medioevo, risalenti al periodo della cosiddetta "rivoluzione degli affetti" del XII secolo. ​
