This paper aims at describing the main aspects of the ISO 14000 series of standards ,born out of the need of more sustainability and less environmental impact, aimed towards the creation of efficient Environmental Management Systems (EMS). How these standards, and the diverse typologies of ecological labeling that stem from them, affect the market and, thus, both consumers and organizations/producers in their choices.
