Il burnout negli infermieri oncologici

This dissertation has been made in order to develop the job burnout phenomenon, in particular his manifestation in the helping professions and, more specifically, in the oncology wards. In the first chapter is given the burnout's first defined theory, made in 1976 by the psychologist Christine Maslach. The second chapter is dedicated to the burnout phenomenon within the helping professions and continues with a conceptual distinction between the burnout, the vicarious trauma and the compassion fatigue's constructs. At last, the third chapter concerns the burnout phenomenon inside the cancer departments which is actually one of the most exposed area to the phenomenon.

L'elaborato nasce allo scopo di approfondire il fenomeno del job burnout, in particolare nelle sue manifestazione nelle helping professions e, più nello specifico, nei reparti oncologici. Nel primo capitolo viene fornita una definizione del burnut a partire dalla sua prima teorizzazione, da parte della psicologa Christine Maslach (1976). Il secondo capitolo sarà invece dedicato al fenomeno del burnout all'interno delle helping professions e prosegue con una distinzione concettuale tra il costrutto del "burnout" e quelli di "trauma vicario" e "compassion fatigue". Il terzo capitolo, infine, è dedicato al fenomeno del burnout all'interno dei reparti di oncologia, che risulta appunto una delle aree mediche più esposte al burnout.
