Ceuta e Melilla. La Grande Muraglia d'Europa.

Ceuta and Melilla are two Spanish enclaves and they represent the meeting and the fight between the Christianity and the Islam. The border walls in this area are the best example of the problems caused by physical and social barriers nowadays. The thesis, divided in three chapters, shows at the beginning a general imagine of the wall present all over the world; the second chapter in a description (geographical, historical, political, cultural, religious) of Ceuta and Melilla and an introduction about their violence, smuggling and illegality; the last one, using newspaper articles, websites and books, analyses three important problems in this area: the ¿porteadoras¿ and the illicit trade, the migrants and the ISIS recruitments.

Ceuta e Melilla sono due enclave spagnole che rappresentano l'incontro-scontro tra il Cristianesimo e il mondo islamico. I muri di confine che dividono i due continenti proprio in prossimità delle città prese in esame sono l'emblema dei problemi e dei disagi che le barriere fisiche e sociali provocano al giorno d'oggi. La tesi, suddivisa in tre capitoli, presenterà nel primo un quadro generale dei muri presenti in tutto il mondo; nel secondo descriverà Ceuta e Melilla sotto diversi aspetti (geografico, storico, politico, culturale, religioso) individuando alcuni dei motivi che le rendono teatro di violenze, contrabbando e illegalità; l'ultimo capitolo, attraverso fonti giornalistiche e letterarie, prenderà in esame tre delle problematiche più significative: il commercio illecito delle ¿porteadoras¿, i migranti e i reclutamenti dello Stato Islamico.
