Testimonianze letterarie del conflitto siriano

The present work has as its object the analysis of some contemporary Arab novels, considered in their Italian translations, with the aim of presenting the literary expression of feelings, anguishes, and fears that Syrian population has been experiencing during the long civil war. The study consists of an analysis of the historical phase that backdrops to several themes, developed by the analysis of some parts of the chosen novels. Through the themes discussed, we tried to delineate the image of the Syrian war, not only as the war that media keeps showing, but, above all, as a war seen through the eyes of those who live it every day. The themes we dealt with during the course of the work were: hatred and happiness, conflicted feelings, which turned out to be similar; the new technologies used as weapons of war and the role that the world media has had in the Syrian war; the prison, seen in two different ways: a cramped, almost deadly cell and an entire city transformed into a large open-air prison; lastly, we dealt with the theme of man's bestiality: through this metaphor, in fact, we try to understand how the human being can change in different situations, especially during a war.

Il presente lavoro ha come oggetto l'analisi di alcuni romanzi arabi contemporanei, presi in considerazione nelle loro traduzioni in italiano, con l'obiettivo di presentare l'espressione letteraria di sentimenti, angosce e paure che la popolazione vive durante la lunga guerra civile siriana. Lo studio si compone di un'analisi sulla fase storica che introduce diversi temi, sviluppati analizzando alcune parti dei romanzi scelti. Attraverso i temi affrontati si è cercato di delineare l'immagine della guerra siriana, non solo come guerra raccontata dai media, ma soprattutto come una guerra vista con gli occhi di chi la vive ogni giorno. I temi affrontati durante lo svolgimento del lavoro sono stati: l'odio e la felicità, sentimenti contrastanti, ma che si sono rivelati affini; le nuove tecnologie usate come armi da guerra e il ruolo che i media mondiali hanno avuto nella guerra siriana; il carcere, visto in due diversi modi, una cella angusta, quasi mortale e una città intera trasformata in una grande prigione a cielo aperto; per ultimo viene affrontato il tema della bestialità dell'uomo, attraverso questa metafora infatti si cerca di comprendere quanto l'essere umano possa cambiare in diverse situazioni, soprattutto durante una guerra.
