La responsabilità e il rischio di errore nella somministrazione della terapia farmacologica: percezioni e vissuti degli studenti di Infermieristica.

Introduction: The responsibility of the nurse in relation to the administration of drugs means ensuring personal safety throughout the treatment process. During the clinical learning, the student also puts these aspects in the field, supervised by the guide nurses and gradually, as they are on a training path. It is important that both nurses and students have a correct perception of the risk associated with the management of drug therapy, with a view to learning from error. Objectives: The objective is to investigate the perceptions and experiences of the students of the Nursing Degree Course in Cuneo regarding the issues of responsibility and the risk of error related to the administration of therapy. Materials and methods: The study consists of a qualitative research in which, through a focus group, the perceptions and experiences of 11 students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the Cuneo Nursing Degree Course were investigated. The discussion was recorded with the consent of the participants and subsequently transcribed in full and analyzed through the Giorgi's method. The study was conducted between November 2017 and January 2018. Results: The survey showed that students live and feel the sense of responsibility connected to the therapy process and perceive the risk of error, regardless of the number of traineeships carried out. Students are aware that responsibility is associated with knowledge and safe behavior towards the assisted person. The timing of the administration of the therapy elicit anxiety and fear in the student, especially when the accompanying nurse, who recognize the importance of supervision, does not respect, according to them, the safety rules and the student is afraid of his evaluation. The students have lived, even with direct involvement, of situations of therapy error, of which they are aware of the importance of reporting and re-elaboration. Discussions and conclusions: The experience experienced during the clinical learning of the therapy process has allowed the student to become aware and live the responsibility and fear of incurring the therapy error, reinforcing the contents provided at the theoretical level during the 'classroom. Introduzione : La responsabilità dell'infermiere in relazione alla somministrazione dei farmaci significa garantire sicurezza alla persona durante tutto il processo di terapia. Anche lo studente, durante l'apprendimento clinico, mette in campo questi aspetti, supervisionato dagli infermieri guida e in modo graduale, poiché si trova in un percorso di formazione. E' importante che sia gli infermieri sia gli studenti abbiano una corretta percezione del rischio associato alla gestione della terapia farmacologica, nell'ottica dell'apprendimento dall'errore. Obiettivi : L'obiettivo consiste nell'indagare le percezioni e i vissuti degli studenti del Corso di Laurea di Infermieristica di Cuneo riguardo ai temi della responsabilità e del rischio di errore legati alla somministrazione della terapia. Materiali e metodi : Lo studio consiste in una ricerca qualitativa in cui, attraverso un focus group, si sono indagati le percezioni e i vissuti di 11 studenti del 2° e 3° anno del corso di Laurea di Infermieristica di Cuneo. La discussione è stata registrata con il consenso dei partecipanti e successivamente trascritta integralmente e analizzata attraverso il metodo Giorgi. Lo studio è stato condotto nel periodo tra novembre 2017 - gennaio 2018. Risultati : Dall'indagine è emerso che gli studenti vivono e sentono il senso di responsabilità connesso al processo di terapia e percepiscono il rischio di errore, indipendentemente dal numero di tirocini svolti. Gli studenti sono consapevoli che la responsabilità si associa alle conoscenze e ad un agire sicuro nei confronti della persona assistita. Il momento della somministrazione della terapia incute ansia e timore nello studente, soprattutto quando l'infermiere affiancatore, di cui riconoscono l'importanza della supervisione, non rispetta, secondo loro, le regole di sicurezza e lo studente ha timore della sua valutazione. Gli studenti hanno vissuto, anche con coinvolgimento diretto, delle situazioni di errore di terapia, di cui hanno la consapevolezza dell'importanza della segnalazione e rielaborazione. Discussioni e conclusioni: L'esperienza del processo di terapia vissuta durante l'apprendimento clinico ha permesso di far conoscere e vivere allo studente la responsabilità e la paura di incorrere nell'errore di terapia, rafforzando i contenuti forniti a livello teorico durante i momenti d'aula.
