Goody Two-Shoes is a children's story published by John Newbery in London in 1765, but Walter Crane's illustration of this tale date forward to 1874. The story is about 'Goody Two Shoes', the nickname of Margery Meanwell, who has a brother named Tommy, but after their parents' death they don't have too much: they wear poor clothes and in two they own three shoes, two of them belong to him and one to her.
