I have lived in the State of Qatar for more than 12 years now. Consequently, it feels as no surprise that with the guidance of my supervising professor I am writing or attempting to write about the state where I matured and spent an extended period of my life. How the place of my habitat does fits with the program you might ask? Here is the answer. I am aware that the government of Qatar has been heavily involved in arts and its promotion and purchase. As well as in view of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar Museums announced its plans to transform Doha’s landscape into an art exhibition by placing various objects of art in the open. Considering it as a great opportunity and honor, I would like to make my little input into representing Qatar and demonstrate its contribution to the world of art. Without a support from Qatar Museums and informationally filled meetings, this paper would have had a different shape and style. Therefore I will kick off with words on Public Art in Qatar by Abdulrahman Al-Ishaq, Director Of Public Art at Qatar Museums who states following, "All the artwork we're showcasing will fit within the context of Doha and Qatar," "It will be placed strategically or territorially to reflect something about our country." "The program aims to offer a snapshot of our identity, our culture, past and present. It's an invitation to look at Qatar beyond the World Cup…". It is Qatar Museums and its representatives who assisted me on this voyage back to the past and fast-forward into the future. I sincerely thank you all for your patience and availability through my project. In this paper, I strive to uncover the State of Qatar and I invite you to join me.
