Abstract

The study offers an overview on a new right which needs-presumably-better protection and an implementation of a normative structure to guarantee its enjoyment: the right to financial education. This right entails consequences which may resort into a more rational stock market and better standards of living for every citizen, among the most relevant ones. The achievement of financial education may open the population to a new form of investment which is less elitist, as well as finalised to advance social, environmental and technological needs of societies: crowdfunding. The dissertation will scrutinize the various approaches to financial literacy all around the world, to discover that one of the most proficuous markets may be the italian one where the opportunity to invest due to the fact that ingent funds are sitting in bank deposits and there are low levels of financial education-a perfect opportunity for the crowdfunding market. Notwithstanding that more than 90 percent of the italian commercial sector is represented by SMEs which can thrive through alternative financing.
