Il femminismo radicale degli anni Settanta tra Italia e Francia: il pensiero della differenza

The thesis deals with the beginning and the development of radical feminism in the Seventies in Italy and France, with particular attention to the specific characteristics of the two movements given by the context in which they are born. After a first introduction of the political and social situation of women during and after the protests of 1968, the first part deals with the study of how radical feminism organizes itself and gives shape in the two countries. Italy and France are mainly united by the belonging to the thought of sexual difference, that has in Carla Lonzi and Luce Irigaray two of the most important and influential theorists. Indeed, in conclusion, there’s the analysis of their works, in order to explain the theory of sexual difference, highlighting all the common aspects in the objectives of the fight, but also emphasizing their differences in method.

La tesi tratta l’inizio e gli sviluppi del femminismo radicale degli anni Settanta in Italia e in Francia, con particolare attenzione alle specifiche caratteristiche dei due movimenti, date dal particolare contesto in cui nascono. Dopo una prima introduzione sulla situazione politica e sociale delle donne durante e dopo le proteste del Sessantotto, inizia lo studio di come il femminismo radicale si organizza e si dà forma nei due paesi. Prima dell’Italia poi della Francia, vengono analizzati i contesti generali, i diversi gruppi e organizzazioni, ognuno con le proprie idee, tendenze, pratiche, vittorie, difficoltà, rivendicazioni e contraddizioni. I due paesi sono soprattutto accomunati per l’appartenenza al pensiero della differenza sessuale, che vede in Carla Lonzi e Luce Irigaray due delle teoriche ed esponenti più importanti ed influenti. Il lavoro si chiude, quindi, con l’analisi delle loro opere per spiegare la teoria della differenza, mettendo in luce tutti gli aspetti comuni negli obiettivi della loro lotta, ma sottolineandone anche le varie differenze di metodo.
