This study focuses on describing and analyzing how and in which proportion a manager’s emotional intelligence impacts corporate results. Often in organizations, when it comes to choosing the most appropriate candidate to be the new manager of the company or a project, the only focus is on the person's background, what university they attended, whether they already have work experience or not. In years to come, however, emotional intelligence will have a key role in the recruitment and screening process of top-level executives. This competence or ability allows the manager to understand, use and manage their emotions, and those of his team, in order to communicate and interact more effectively with other people. Being a manager with an elevated level of emotional intelligence means being able to better engage your team, make them loyal, and have a relationship of trust and mutual respect with everyone on your staff. Emotional intelligence is a key requirement for a manager because with it he or she would be able to understand how people in his or her team are feeling, how he or she should interact with them and how to make them feel as an important part of the project and of the overall company. Emotional intelligence makes it easier for managers to achieve his / her goals, while at the same time creating a familiar and friendly environment in the work team. For a company, being able to identify and have in-house managers with a high level of emotional intelligence not only creates a pleasant environment for the rest of the employees but also manages to save the company significant amounts of capital, working more efficiently and effectively. The purpose of this research will be to understand how and how much a manager with a proficient level of emotional intelligence affects business performance, how much a sensitive leader affects the work environment, and how much an individual who is able to comprehend emotions affects the work experience of his staff and workers. It will be important to understand if it is important and if it really makes the difference for a company to look for a manager with an elevated level of emotional intelligence or if it is more effective to focus on his / her historical background, such as having studied at a prestigious university or having graduated with excellent grades, is enough to hire a good manager. The final objective of the research is to understand in a concrete way the influence of a manager with a high level of emotional intelligence on the results and on the overall performance of the company. The expected results are concrete demonstrations of how the performance of a company can dramatically change thanks to the emotional intelligence of a manager and how all stakeholders can benefit from the presence of a manager with an elevated level of emotional intelligence.
