Paul et Virginie e La Nouvelle Héloïse: studio tematico-comparativo

In this dissertation a thematic-comparative analysis between two novels is carried out: Paul et Virginie by Bernardin de Saint-Pierre and La Nouvelle Héloïse by Jean-Jacques Rousseau. The themes that are analyzed are: the features of utopia, the relationship between happiness and virtue, the identity of the “savages”, the space and the relationship that the protagonists develop with it. In addition, the two authors, Bernardin de Saint-Pierre and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, are presented in a concise way, the characteristics of the two genres to which these works belong are illustrated, and the content of the two novels is summarized.

In questa dissertazione viene svolta un’analisi tematico-comparativa tra due romanzi: Paul et Virginie di Bernardin de Saint-Pierre e La Nouvelle Héloïse di Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I temi che vengono analizzati sono: le fattezze dell’utopia, il rapporto tra felicità e virtù, l’identità dei “selvaggi”, lo spazio e il rapporto che i protagonisti sviluppano con esso. Vengono inoltre presentati in modo conciso i due autori, Bernardin de Saint-Pierre e Jean Jacques Rousseau, illustrate le caratteristiche dei due generi a cui appartengono queste opere, e viene riportato sinteticamente il contenuto dei due romanzi.
