Le conseguenze del crollo della borsa nel 1929

Financial markets constantly evolve over time as new forms of investments are introduced in the market and as new laws are applied in order to control them. Financial markets today and in particular stock markets, are a result of different events in history that changed them for the better; one of these events was the stock market collapse of 1929 which led to the Great Depression in the United States and in other countries around the world. It took 25 years for the stock market to return to the level it was before the stock crash and in that process millions of people lost all of their life savings as the laws controlling the markets were still not sufficient. The results of the stock crash and the collapse of an entire economic system, with a loss that was estimated greater than the cost of World War I, was the Glass-Steagall Act, the establishment of the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).
