Spazi e personaggi: il romanzo naturalista secondo Edmond e Jules de Goncourt

Edmond and Jules de Goncourt will be introduced in the first chapter of the study; later Naturalism will be contextualized within the historical period-cultural, trying to condense definitions to this literary current and deepening the position of the two authors within it. The style of the two naturalist authors will be deepened: the descriptive strategies, the elements of rhetoric and how the space relates to the protagonists of the events, how much it affects and how it is treated differently according to the place where the narrative takes place. The focus of the thesis, as well as the main reason for this work, will therefore be to study the particular approach of the two authors to the naturalist novel. ​

Edmond e Jules de Goncourt saranno introdotti nel primo capitolo dello studio; successivamente si contestualizzerà il Naturalismo all’interno del periodo storico-culturale, provando a condensare delle definizioni a tale corrente letteraria e approfondendo la collocazione dei due autori al suo interno. Verrà approfondito lo stile dei due autori naturalisti: le strategie descrittive, gli elementi di retorica e come lo spazio si relaziona con i protagonisti delle vicende, quanto influisca e come venga trattato diversamente in base al luogo in cui la narrazione si svolge. Punto focale della tesi, nonché motivo principale di questo elaborato, sarà dunque studiare il particolare approccio dei due autori nei confronti del romanzo naturalista. ​
