All the world's a stage. La scenografia nel teatro di Shakespeare

The purpose of the thesis is dual: firstly, analysing the role that stage set had within the Elizabethan theatre, focusing especially on Shakespeare's body of work, and subsequently determining its importance in the context of the conception of the XX century scenic space.

L'obiettivo che la tesi si prefigge è duplice: in primo luogo effettuare un'analisi del ruolo che la scenografia ricopriva all'interno del teatro elisabettiano, prendendo in esame soprattutto la produzione shakespeariana, e successivamente determinare quanta importanza essa ha avuto nella concezione dello spazio scenico del Novecento.
