Akàkij Akakièvič e Aspettato Aspettati: "il piccolo uomo" tra crudeltà e rassegnazione in Nikolaj Gogol' e Marino Moretti

Nikolaj Vasil'evič Gogol' is one of the most unique writers that Russian literature has ever produced and all his writings have always been the subject of extensive research. The goal of this study is to provide the analysis of one of the most interesting characters of the nineteenth-century literature, Akàkij Akakièvič, protagonist of the short story Šinel' by Gogol', and to make a comparison with the protagonist, Aspettato Aspettati, of the homonymous short story Il Cappotto by Marino Moretti. In fact, during the various chapters, we will be able to bring out all the peculiarities that distinguish these two characters. In the first chapter, we will present a detailed account of Šinel' with a first introduction to the figure of Akàkij Akakièvič; in the course of the second chapter we will firstly analyze the context in which Gogol' wrote the story and then we will ask ourselves about the reasons for the choice of the name of Akàkij: in fact, a further intent of this Dissertation appears to be the explaination of the importance that the religious sphere had for Gogol'. After the examination of all the characteristics concerning Akàkij Akakièvič and Gogol's relationship with the religious world, we will analyze the personality of Aspettato Aspettati. In fact, in the third and last chapter, after a brief biography of Moretti and a detailed explanation of the Morettian tale Il Cappotto, a real confrontation between the two employees (the Russian of the 19th century and the Italian of the 20th century) will take place. At the end of our work, we will be able to understand more widely the two figures analyzed, that of Akàkij Akakièvič and that of Aspettato Aspettati. In conclusion, after the comparison between the two writings, it will be clear how, the initial intent of the Gogolian tale will be totally preserved, even in the Morettian tale of a century later.

Nikolaj Vasil’evič Gogol’ è uno degli scrittori più singolari che la letteratura russa abbia mai prodotto e tutti i suoi scritti sono sempre stati oggetto di numerose ricerche. L’obiettivo del presente studio è quello di fornire l’analisi di uno dei personaggi più interessanti della letteratura dell’Ottocento, Akàkij Akakièvič, protagonista del racconto Šinel’ di Gogol’, e di farne un confronto con il protagonista, Aspettato Aspettati, dell’omonimo racconto Il Cappotto di Marino Moretti. Nel corso dei vari capitoli infatti, saremo in grado di fare emergere tutte le peculiarità che contraddistinguono questi due personaggi. Nel primo capitolo sarà esposto un resoconto dettagliato di Šinel’ con una prima introduzione alla figura di Akàkij Akakièvič; nel corso del secondo capitolo analizzeremo in primo luogo il contesto in cui Gogol’ scrisse il racconto e poi ci interrogheremo sui motivi riguardanti la scelta del nome di Akàkij: un ulteriore intento della presente Dissertazione risulta essere infatti, quello di spiegare l’importanza che la sfera religiosa aveva per Gogol’. Dopo aver esaminato tutte le caratteristiche riguardanti Akàkij Akakièvič e il rapporto di Gogol’ con il mondo religioso ci dedicheremo all’introduzione di Aspettato Aspettati. Nel terzo ed ultimo capitolo infatti, in seguito ad una breve biografia di Moretti e ad una spiegazione dettagliata del racconto morettiano Il Cappotto, si darà vita ad un vero e proprio confronto tra i due impiegati, quello russo dell’800 e quello italiano del ‘900. Al termine del nostro lavoro saremo in grado di comprendere più ampiamente le due figure analizzate, quella di Akàkij Akakièvič e quella di Aspettato Aspettati. In conclusione, a seguito del confronto tra i due scritti, risulterà chiaro come, l’intento iniziale del racconto gogoljano sarà totalmente preservato, anche nel racconto morettiano di un secolo dopo.
