Attaccamento prenatale e sviluppo del bambino

Prenatal attachment is the bond established between the mother and the foetus. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the influence of prenatal attachment on the child's development during pregnancy and after birth. Because of the great importance of this relationship during gestation, it has gained the attention of many scholars in recent years. After describing the development of the embryo and fetus during pregnancy, the construct of prenatal attachment is defined and methods for detecting it are introduced. The repercussions of prenatal attachment on the child's development are analysed and some important factors related to prenatal attachment are examined, such as the presence and role of the father, the environment surrounding the mother-child couple, the psychological and psychopathological state of the mother, maternal deviant behaviour, a possible high-risk pregnancy or previous miscarriages. Finally, attention is focused on educational interventions that can foster the construction of a good prenatal attachment bond and, consequently, promote healthy child development. In conclusion, in the light of the literature reviewed and the analysis of projects in the area, it emerges how the principle of prenatal education is spreading and how a good prenatal attachment is increasingly promoted and supported.

L’attaccamento prenatale è il legame che si instaura tra la madre e il feto. Questa dissertazione ha come obiettivo l’analisi dell’influenza dell’attaccamento prenatale sullo sviluppo del bambino durante la gravidanza e dopo la nascita. Data la grande importanza di questa relazione durante la gestazione, negli ultimi anni essa ha ottenuto l’attenzione di molti studiosi. Dopo aver descritto lo sviluppo dell’embrione e del feto durante la gravidanza, si definisce il costrutto di attaccamento prenatale e si introducono i metodi per rilevarlo. Si analizzano le ripercussioni dell’attaccamento prenatale sullo sviluppo del bambino e vengono esaminati alcuni importanti fattori correlati all’attaccamento prenatale quali la presenza e il ruolo del padre, l’ambiente che circonda la coppia madre-bambino, lo stato psicologico e psicopatologico della madre, i comportamenti devianti materni, un’eventuale gravidanza a rischio o aborti spontanei vissuti precedentemente. Infine, l’attenzione è focalizzata sugli interventi di educazione che possono favorire la costruzione di un buon legame di attaccamento prenatale e, di conseguenza, promuovere un sano sviluppo del bambino. In conclusione, alla luce della letteratura esaminata e dell’analisi dei progetti presenti sul territorio, emerge come il principio di educazione prenatale si stia diffondendo e come un buon attaccamento prenatale venga sempre più promosso e sostenuto.
