Progetto Diaspora Start-Up, Romania

This thesis aims to illustrate the Diaspora Start-up project, financed through European funds and aimed at promoting the "return home" of the so-called "Romanians of the diaspora" who emigrated to various European countries from 2007 onwards. The first chapter will be focused on a general presentation of the social, political-institutional and economic framework of Romania, therefore with particular attention to the differences between rural and urban areas, the current political situation, the corruption, the economic growth and the job market. The second chapter will analyze the causes and consequences of the strong migration to the west by Romanian citizens, especially in terms of growth and development. In the third chapter, there will be a general presentation of the project and its implementation, but also a quick presentation of the European framework in which it was born, and finally any positive/negative results achieved by it.

La presente tesi si propone di illustrare il progetto Diaspora Start-up, finanziato attraverso fondi europei e finalizzato a promuovere il “ritorno in patria” dei cosiddetti “rumeni della diaspora” emigrati in vari paesi europei dal 2007 in poi. Il primo capitolo verterà su una presentazione generale del quadro sociale, politico-istituzionale ed economico della Romania, quindi con particolare attenzione alle differenze tra le zone rurali e le zone urbane, la situazione politica attuale, la corruzione, la crescita economica e il mercato del lavoro. Nel secondo capitolo verranno analizzate cause e conseguenze della forte migrazione verso occidente da parte dei cittadini rumeni, soprattutto in termini di crescita e sviluppo. Nel terzo capitolo verrà presentato il progetto, il quadro europeo nel quale è nato, la sua implementazione e infine gli eventuali risultati positivi/negativi da esso raggiunti.
