La figura dell'assassino nella letteratura e nella cultura di massa

Despite the obvious negative connotation from a legal point of view, the figure of the murderer, if analyzed through the various entertainment media, always arouses a certain charm. Novels, films, comics, video games, have the power to transform simple "monsters" into charismatic figures, also revealing the emotional depth and serious issues underlying their actions. The types of serial killers taken as examples in this dissertation are presented by reporting not only the plots of the works in which they are protagonists or antagonists, but also interviews with the authors who created them and the actors who made them "alive" on the big screen, some of which have become true cultural icons or symbols for the oppressed. In addition, medical-psychological issues are presented as possible triggers for the criminal actions of these individuals, some of whom actually existed and whose identity has not yet been revealed.

La figura dell'assassino, nonostante l'ovvia connotazione negativa dal punto di vista giuridico, se analizzata attraverso i vari mezzi di intrattenimento, suscita sempre un certo fascino. Romanzi, film, fumetti, videogiochi, hanno il potere di trasformare semplici "mostri" in figure carismatiche, svelandone anche spessore emotivo e ragioni profonde alla base delle loro azioni. Le tipologie di serial killer prese ad esempio in questo elaborato vengono presentate riportando non solo le trame delle opere di cui sono protagonisti o antagonisti, ma anche interviste agli autori che li hanno creati e agli attori che li hanno resi "vivi" sul grande schermo, alcuni dei quali divenuti vere e proprie icone culturali o simboli per gli oppressi. Vengono inoltre presentate tematiche in ambito medico-psicologico come possibili cause scatenanti per le azioni criminali di tali individui, alcuni dei quali realmente esistiti e la cui identità non è stata tuttora svelata.
