Oltre l'abbraccio: la teoria dell'attaccamento dall'etologia alla neurobiologia

This bibliografic paper is set to discuss the attachment theory and particularly the contributions from studies about animals and the usage of the neuroimaging techniques that validate this theory. In the first chapter, a short overview on the attachment theory will be introduced, originally suggested by Bowlby, who added to the psychoanalitic classic model the ethological observations, argued by Harlow and Lorenz. Moreover, there will be a focus on the four attachment styles (studied by Strange Situation) and on Adult Attachment Interview. The second chapter aims to present the researches about hormones and brain areas, which contribute to create the attachment between the parent and infant. In conclusion, in the third chapter the paper will provide an insight on children signals, such as cry and smile, considered important in order to prompt parental behaviours.

Il presente lavoro bibliografico intende trattare la teoria dell'attaccamento e in particolare i contributi derivati dagli studi sugli animali e dall'utilizzo delle tecniche di neuroimaging che hanno avvalorato tale teoria. Nel primo capitolo sarà presentata una breve panoramica della teoria dell'attaccamento, proposta originariamente da Bowlby il quale aggiunse al modello psicoanalitico classico le osservazioni etologiche proposte da Harlow e Lorenz. Inoltre verranno proposti i quattro stili dell'attaccamento (studiati grazie alla Strange Situation) e l'Adult Attachment Interview. Il secondo capitolo ha lo scopo di esporre le ricerche relative agli ormoni e alle aree cerebrali che contribuiscono alla formazione dell'attaccamento tra figura genitoriale e piccolo. Infine, nel terzo capitolo si parlerà dei segnali del bambino, quali pianto e sorriso, ritenuti fattori importanti in grado di elicitare comportamenti genitoriali.
