“Il Metodo Profetico”: la Scuola di ʿAbd as-Salām Yāsīn, fondatore di “Giustizia e spiritualità” (al-ʿAdl wa al-Ihsān)

This paper aims to understand and deepen the figure of ʿAbd as-Salām Yāsīn, one of the most important intellectuals of contemporary Islam of Moroccan origin, founder and spiritual leader of the Justice and Spirituality movement (Jamāʿat al-ʿAdl wa al- Iḥsān). Furthermore, he wants to present an analysis of the requirements and objectives of his school of thought and of the prophetic method he proposed. Yāsīn was born in 1928 in Marrakech, the son of a peasant of Berber origins, descendant from the family of the prophet Muḥammad, peace be upon him. Yāsīn began his career as a government official for about ten years, having the opportunity to visit different countries of the world and enrich his education. Subsequently, he had a spiritual crisis that led him to shift his attention to faith, and to seek answers to the numerous questions about his existence and the existence of the human being; this research led him to join the Sufi order of the Bušīšīyya brotherhood, remaining a member for seven years until the death of his spiritual teacher šayḫ al-Abbâs al-Qâdirî in 1972. He soon began writing numerous texts, and in 1974 he wrote and published a letter addressed to the King of Morocco Hassan II, with the aim of getting him to approach the principles of the faith. The action did not go unnoticed and aroused the interest and criticism of many, on the other hand it was exposed as few had done previously in a context of monarchy, an act that cost Muršid years of suffering and imprisonment in prisons and hospitals. psychiatrists, who have not, however, stopped the spread of his thought; and this is a further reason for interest and research. ʿAbd as-Salām Yāsīn was and is a teacher who in a few years managed to found a school of thought, which has hundreds of thousands of followers in many parts of the world, with the aim of bringing to light the prophetic message and awakening the umma of the prophet Mohammad from a long hibernation.

Questo elaborato si pone come obbiettivo di comprendere e approfondire la figura di ʿAbd as-Salām Yāsīn, uno tra i più importanti intellettuali dell’Islam contemporaneo di origini marocchine, fondatore e leader spirituale del movimento Giustizia e Spiritualità (Jamāʿat al-ʿAdl wa al-Iḥsān). Inoltre, vuole presentare un’analisi dei requisiti e obbiettivi della sua scuola di pensiero e del metodo profetico da egli proposto. Yāsīn è nato nel 1928 a Marrakech, figlio di un contadino di origini berbera, discendente dalla famiglia del profeta Muḥammad, su di lui la pace. Yāsīn ha iniziato la sua carriera come funzionario governativo per circa dieci anni, avendo la possibilità di visitare diversi paesi del mondo ed arricchire la sua formazione. Successivamente, ha avuto una crisi spirituale che l’ha portato a spostare la sua attenzione sulla fede, e a cercare risposta alle numerosissime domande sulla sua esistenza e sull’esistenza dell’essere umano; questa sua ricerca l’ha condotto ad unirsi all’ordine sufi della confraternita Bušīšīyya, rimanendone membro per sette anni fino alla dipartita del suo maestro spirituale lo šayḫ al-Abbâs al-Qâdirî nel 1972. Egli ha iniziato presto a scrivere numerosi testi, e 1974 ha scritto e pubblicato una lettera indirizzata al Re del Marocco Hassan II, con l’obbiettivo di indurlo ad avvicinarsi ai principi della fede. L’azione non passò inosservata e suscitò l’interesse e le critiche di molti, d'altronde si era esposto come pochi avevano fatto in precedenza in un contesto di monarchia, atto questo che costò al Muršid anni di sofferenza e reclusioni in prigionie e ospedali psichiatrici, che non hanno però fermato la diffusione del suo pensiero; e questo è un ulteriore motivo di interesse e ricerca. ʿAbd as-Salām Yāsīn è stato ed è un maestro che in pochi anni è riuscito a fondare una scuola di pensiero, che conta centinaia di migliaia di seguaci in molte parti del mondo, con l’obbiettivo di riportare alla luce il messaggio profetico e risvegliare la umma del profeta Mohammad da un lungo letargo.
