Back to Italy: il fenomeno del reshoring

The subject of my thesis is reshoring, that is the decision to bring back within the national borders the production initially allocated abroad. First of all, it will take into consideration the scenario in which the process has developed and the reasons behind it. Besides, the difference between reshoring and other forms of strategic decisions on where to locate the production will be defined. Secondly, the different names with which the phenomenon is described in literature will be deeply analyzed along with the different types that have been enlightened by the work of different scholars and the drivers of this phenomenon. In addition to this, it will delve into the responses of several European countries to this phenomenon focusing especially on the italian situation.  

L'oggetto della mia tesi è il reshoring, ovvero la decisione di riportare all'interno dei confini nazionali le attività produttive inizialmente delocalizzate all'estero. Dapprima, verrà analizzato lo scenario in cui tale processo si è sviluppato e le sue cause. Inoltre, verrà specificata la differenza tra il reshoring e altre forme di localizzazione strategica alle quali possono ricorrere le imprese. Successivamente, saranno analizzati i diversi nomi con cui si indica tale fenomeno in letteratura, le diverse tipologie individuate dal lavoro degli studiosi e si illustreranno i fattori che stimolano tale fenomeno. Inoltre, verranno analizzate in dettaglio le reazioni di diversi paesi Europei a tale fenomeno raccontando delle particolarità di ciascun paese ponendo un'attenzione particolare alla situazione italiana.
